Pairi Daiza Resort is an unusual proposition: instead of staying near the zoo, you sleep inside it, in accommodation built against the territories of bears, wolves, tigers, sea lions, walruses and penguins. The resort sits within the park at Brugelette in Belgium, and each lodge or hotel room is positioned around a specific animal view. The choice is therefore less about star ratings and more about which animals you want outside your window.

This guide breaks down the accommodation styles, from hotel rooms and family lodges to the new Edenya rooms inside the tropical glasshouse, and explains what the overnight package includes. It also covers early park access, the wellness area, extra animal experiences and the routes from London by train or car. Use the Pairi Daiza guide alongside it when you are deciding how to spend your day in the park itself.

What a Pairi Daiza overnight stay includes

Every stay is sold as a package rather than a room-only booking. The operator lists park access from arrival day to departure day, a three-course evening meal served buffet-style or at your table with water included, and an American buffet breakfast for the whole family.

The practical extras matter as much as the meals: luggage is collected on arrival and delivered to your accommodation, parking is reserved for hotel residents, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the stay. Board games can be requested at hotel reception if you want a quiet evening between animal watching.

One of the most useful inclusions is timing. Overnight guests get into the park from 9:00, an hour before day visitors, and the Worlds of The Last Frontier and The Land of the Cold stay open to residents around the clock through designated access paths. That means you can walk the cold-climate and frontier zones after the day crowds have gone.

The accommodation styles: hotels, lodges and animal-view rooms

The resort groups its accommodation into themed houses and lodges, each tied to a territory. The Paddling Bear Hotel offers conventional hotel rooms beside the Steller sea lions, while the Paddling Bear Lodge next door provides four luxury lodges with a living space, private sauna and a terrace facing the sea lions.

Wooden lodges dominate the rest of the resort. The Native House and Full Moon Lodge are built in First Nations style from red cedar and overlook black bears, fallow deer, wolves and brown bears, while the Farm House Lodge occupies a renovated farmhouse with a private terrace among deer, wallabies, goats and rheas.

When you compare rooms, look at the view category rather than the room name. Pairi Daiza labels each option as a face-to-face view, a view from above, a panoramic view or a limited view, and that label tells you more about the experience than the square footage does.

Animal-view rooms: polar bears, tigers, penguins, walruses and sea lions

The White Bear House is the headline address for polar bear watchers, with three room types offering different angles on the polar bear territory: face-to-face, bird's-eye and limited view. The Tiger House puts a picture window between you and the Siberian tigers, while the Walrus House offers underwater views only, so you watch the walruses swim past at eye level.

The Penguin House is the obvious pick for young children, with a family room facing the penguins directly and a double room with a view from above the ice floe. The Paddling Bear Hotel and Lodge look out on Steller sea lions, the largest sea lion species, and the lodge versions add the private sauna.

If you want a broader view than a single enclosure, the Native House and Full Moon Lodge look over larger mammal territories, with the Full Moon Lodge taking up to six adults, one child and one baby. Decide whether you want a close-up window or a wide territory view before you book; the two give quite different stays.

The Native House and Full Moon Lodge for larger groups

Both the Native House and the Full Moon Lodge are set up for groups rather than couples. The wooden Native House accommodation sleeps up to six adults, two children and one baby, and the cedar lodges look out over the black bears and fallow deer. The Full Moon Lodge takes six adults, one child and one baby, with views over the wolf and brown bear territory.

For a multi-generation trip or two families travelling together, these lodges remove the need to split across several hotel rooms. The trade-off is that you are further from the hotel-style services and restaurants, so plan evenings around the lodge rather than assuming you can walk to a bar in a few minutes.

The Paddling Bear Hotel and Paddling Bear Lodge

The Paddling Bear Hotel is the most conventional option: 18 family rooms sleeping up to four people plus a baby, and eight double rooms for up to three people plus a baby, all beside the Steller sea lions. It suits travellers who want a standard hotel setup with reception, breakfast service and easy access to the rest of the resort.

The Paddling Bear Lodge is the romantic end of the range, with four lodges combining natural materials, a private sauna and a terrace overlooking the sea lions. Couples who want the animal view without the group-lodge feel should start here.

The Farm House Lodge and Cambron Abbey stays

The Farm House Lodge is the gentlest introduction to the resort, set in a renovated farmhouse with a private terrace and views over deer, rheas, maras, wallabies, pigs, goats and sheep. It suits families with very young children who want animals close by without the drama of predators at the window.

Accommodation also sits in the Cambron Abbey area of the park, alongside the newer worlds. Guests staying in these houses can reach several Worlds outside regular opening hours using the designated access paths, which is worth factoring in if you want evening walks without the daytime crowds.

Edenya stays new for 2026: underwater rooms and the tropical glasshouse

Edenya is the park's tenth world and opens to guests in 2026: a four-hectare tropical glasshouse holding two Guinness World Records, for the world's largest tropical glasshouse and the world's largest covered zoological ecosystem. Inside, a 17-metre waterfall drops through jungle housing jaguars, manatees, sharks and hundreds of butterflies.

Eighty-eight new accommodations sit inside Edenya, including fully underwater rooms such as the Shark Cove, where you sleep face to face with sharks and rays, and the Manatee Cove, which looks into the manatee territory. The Emerald Retreat and Jaguar Falls add canopy and big-cat views for guests who want the rainforest rather than the ocean.

Edenya guests get free access to the glasshouse during park opening hours with extended access outside them, but the wellness area offer does not apply to Edenya stays. If the spa matters to you, book a lodge in The Last Frontier, The Farmhouse or The Land of the Cold instead. If you are travelling purely for Edenya, the best time to visit page explains how seasons affect the park.

Early park access and 24-hour access to selected worlds

Early entry changes how you plan a park day. Overnight guests enter from 9:00, an hour before day visitors, which is the window for heading straight to the most popular animal houses before queues build. Use it for the territories you most want to see quietly, then loop back to the rest of the park later.

Residents also keep access to The Last Frontier and The Land of the Cold through the night, so the polar bears, walruses and sea lions can be watched after the park empties. Pairi Daiza opening times sets out how the public calendar works if you want to align your stay with a particular season.

Wellness access and who it applies to

The resort wellness area is included for one hour and 30 minutes per stay, by prior reservation, and is reserved for guests of The Last Frontier, The Farmhouse and The Land of the Cold. Robes and towels are provided, so you only need swimwear and footwear.

The facilities include a steam room, Finnish-style sauna, ice shower and a lounge with an outdoor terrace. It is a short, structured slot rather than an open-ended spa day, so book it around your dinner and evening animal watching rather than treating it as an all-afternoon activity.

Extra experiences: Keeper for a Day and Animal Adventure

Beyond the room and meals, the resort sells add-on experiences. Keeper for a Day puts you behind the scenes with the animal care team, while Animal Adventure is aimed at guests who want a closer encounter with particular species. Both are booked separately from the accommodation.

These suit couples and older children more than families with toddlers, since the formats involve time with keepers rather than free roaming. If you are building a short break around one of them, check availability when you book the room rather than leaving it to arrival. If you want to combine the stay with the rest of the zoo, the map and areas page covers the park layout.

Who each stay suits: couples, families and groups

Couples should look at the Paddling Bear Lodge for the private sauna and sea lion terrace, or the Tiger House for the drama of a big cat at the window. Families with young children are best served by the Penguin House family room or the Farm House Lodge, both of which keep animals close without predator viewing.

Groups and extended families fit the Native House or Full Moon Lodge, which take six adults plus children and give everyone a shared living space. Thrill-seekers and animal obsessives may prefer the underwater Walrus House or the new Edenya rooms, where the view is the entire point of the stay.

Getting there from the UK by train or car

By train, the route runs from London St Pancras to Brussels-Midi in about two hours on Eurostar, then roughly an hour by car or taxi to Pairi Daiza at Brugelette. That makes a two-night stay feasible without a car for the whole journey, though you will need a taxi or transfer for the final leg.

By car, take Eurotunnel or a ferry to Calais, which is under three hours' drive from the park. Driving gives you flexibility for a longer Belgium trip, and resident parking is reserved at the resort, so you are not hunting for a space on arrival.

Nearby alternatives and where to base yourself

Staying on site is the only way to get the early entry, the overnight access to selected worlds and the animal-view rooms, so there is no true like-for-like alternative nearby. If the resort is full or you want a cheaper base, look at hotels in the wider Hainaut region and drive in for the day.

If you are comparing Belgian park breaks, Walibi Belgium hotels covers a very different style of trip built around rides rather than animals. Pairi Daiza food explains what is available inside the park if you are visiting for the day rather than staying overnight.

Booking and cancellation essentials

Book through the official Pairi Daiza Resort pages so that the package inclusions, the animal view and any add-on experiences are confirmed together. Room rates vary by date and lodge, so the booking engine is the place to see live availability rather than relying on a fixed figure.

Guests who book a stay can take a discount on a new Membership Card during the visit, which suits anyone planning to return within the year. Check the resort's own terms for cancellation and payment when you book, since these sit outside the park ticket conditions.

Plan Your Pairi Daiza Stay

Choose the animal first and the room second: a face-to-face polar bear window, an underwater walrus view and a cedar lodge over the deer all deliver very different nights. Then match the occupancy to your group, since the Native House and Full Moon Lodge take six adults while the hotel rooms suit couples and smaller families.

Build the trip around the 9:00 early entry and the half-board meals, which together make the package feel like a full short break rather than a room near a zoo. For the day itself, use the Pairi Daiza guide to plan which worlds to tackle first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in a Pairi Daiza overnight stay?

The package includes park access from arrival to departure day, a three-course evening meal with water, an American buffet breakfast, luggage service, reserved resident parking and free Wi-Fi. Guests also get early park entry from 9:00 and access to The Last Frontier and The Land of the Cold outside regular opening hours.

Which Pairi Daiza room has the best animal view?

It depends on the animal you want. The Tiger House and White Bear House offer face-to-face windows, the Walrus House is fully underwater, and the Penguin House has a family room facing the penguins directly. The resort labels rooms as face-to-face, view from above, panoramic or limited view, so compare those labels before booking.

Can you sleep underwater at Pairi Daiza?

Yes, in the Edenya accommodation opening in 2026. The Shark Cove places rooms completely underwater facing sharks and rays, and the Manatee Cove looks into the manatee territory from a sunken Mayan-style setting. These rooms sit inside the new tropical glasshouse rather than the older lodges.

How do you get to Pairi Daiza from the UK?

Eurostar runs from London St Pancras to Brussels-Midi in about two hours, followed by roughly an hour by car or taxi to Brugelette. By car, take Eurotunnel or a ferry to Calais, which is under three hours from the park.

Do overnight guests get early park access?

Yes. Guests staying at the resort enter the park from 9:00, one hour before day visitors, and can also reach The Last Frontier and The Land of the Cold outside regular opening hours via designated access paths.

Which Pairi Daiza lodge suits a family of six?

The Native House and the Full Moon Lodge each sleep up to six adults, one or two children and a baby, with shared living space and views over bears, deer or wolves. They suit multi-generation groups better than the standard hotel rooms.

Is dinner included in a Pairi Daiza Resort booking?

Yes. Stays are half board, with a three-course evening meal served buffet-style or at your table depending on the restaurant, with water included but other drinks charged separately. Breakfast is an American buffet the following morning.

Is the wellness area included for all guests?

Wellness access of one hour and 30 minutes is included for guests of The Last Frontier, The Farmhouse and The Land of the Cold, booked in advance. The offer does not apply to Edenya guests, who should choose another lodge if the spa is a priority.
