A Drayton Manor Fast Pass trades money for time on the park's most popular rides, letting you join a dedicated or priority queue instead of the standard line. The resort sells three tiers, so the real decision is how many rides you want to skip and whether you want a capped allowance or unlimited use.

The passes work best for visitors with a short window in the park, families splitting between Thomas Land and the bigger coasters, or anyone visiting on a day when the standard queues eat into ride time. They are a bolt-on, not an entry product, so budget for admission separately.

What a Drayton Manor Fast Pass does and who it suits

A Fast Pass gives you access to a dedicated or priority queue where one is available, which shortens the wait on participating rides without guaranteeing instant boarding. The park states that delays can still occur and that a pass does not guarantee a particular ride will be running, so treat it as a time-saver rather than a reservation.

The product suits riders who already know which attractions they want and would rather not spend the middle of the day standing in line. It makes least sense for visitors who plan a slow wander through the zoo and Thomas Land at a toddler's pace, because the pass only pays off across the bigger rides.

The three Fast Pass tiers: Silver, Gold and Platinum

Silver covers three rides, with one pass per ride, so it gives you three single skips to spend where the queues bite hardest. Gold covers five rides on the same one-per-ride basis, adding two more skips for a higher outlay. Platinum removes the cap and lets you jump the queue as often as you want on eligible rides.

For most visitors, the choice comes down to ride count. A family that mainly wants to blunt the worst two or three waits will find Silver sufficient, while a thrill-seeking pair looping the headline coasters gets more from Platinum's unlimited use than from five fixed skips. If you are weighing a capped allowance against unlimited riding, our guide to Alton Towers fast track covers the same trade-off at another park.

Prices and what each tier includes

The park lists Silver at £26.90 per person, Gold at £39.90 and Platinum at £99.99, with the Fast Pass FAQ quoting passes as starting from £24.90 per person; prices are set by the resort and can change, so treat these as the current published figures rather than a fixed rate. Every tier is priced per person, so a family of four multiplies each figure by four.

That per-person structure is where budgets stretch. Two adults and two children on Gold add a substantial sum on top of admission, which is why many families buy Silver for the group and let the keenest riders upgrade, or skip the pass and use ride order instead.

All tiers require one pass per person, cannot be shared or transferred, and are valid only for the date selected at purchase. Wristbands must be presented when asked, and staff remove or mark the entitlement each time it is used.

What Fast Passes exclude: park entry and The Haunting

A Fast Pass does not include admission, so you still need a valid theme park ticket or Annual Pass to get through the gate. Buying a pass without entry sorted is the most common way to waste money on this add-on.

Fast Passes are not valid on The Haunting or Falls Theatre, and the park may exclude selected attractions or special events. Plan your skips around the coasters and family rides in Adventure Cove, Vikings and Frontier Falls rather than saving them for the dark attractions.

How to buy and collect a Fast Pass

Passes can be bought online in advance or, subject to availability, from Guest Services on the day of your visit. They are sold on a limited, first-come, first-served basis, so a busy date can sell out before you reach the park.

Unless told otherwise at booking, Fast Passes must be collected from Guest Services, which sits opposite the Bounty Pirate Ship. Build that stop into your arrival before heading into the park, because the pass is not active until you have the wristband.

Collecting early also lets you pair the pass with a sensible ride order, hitting headline rides first and saving the gentler Thomas Land attractions for the middle of the day when queues build.

Fast Pass rules that affect how you use it

Every guest using a Fast Pass must still meet the height, age and health requirements for each ride, and the pass does not override those checks. Rides can also be closed for technical issues, weather or maintenance, in which case the pass earns you nothing on that attraction.

Wristbands that are damaged, altered or tampered with will be refused, and lost bands are not replaced. Keep the band on and intact for the whole day, and note that Annual Passholders do not receive a discount on Fast Passes.

Fast Pass versus the free Easy Access Service

The Easy Access Service is a separate, free scheme for guests who cannot use conventional queue lines because of mobility issues or difficulty in crowds. Eligible guests register through Nimbus, either with the free Drayton Manor Digital Access Pass or the Nimbus Access Card, and collect a wristband from Guest Services on arrival.

The service allows the named user and one or two carers, depending on the card, a daily ride allowance via the exit or access queue, excluding the 4D Cinema and The Haunting. It is not a paid queue-jump product and should not be bought as one; a paid Fast Pass is a different thing entirely.

Guests who need a companion ticket claim a free Essential Companion Ticket at the ticket office on arrival, presenting the Access Card or Digital Access Pass ID to staff. Parking for disabled guests sits at the front of each car park.

Is a Fast Pass worth it for families, couples and thrill-seekers?

Families with young children often get more value from planning around Thomas Land and the zoo than from buying passes, because the little ones' ride list is short and slow-paced. If part of the group wants the big coasters, buying Silver or Gold for those riders only keeps the cost proportionate.

Couples and thrill-seekers who plan to ride repeatedly get the clearest case for Platinum, since unlimited use rewards lap after lap on the headline attractions. Visitors with a single afternoon in the park should weigh Gold against a well-ordered first hour, as rope-drop riding often clears several attractions before queues form.

Weather matters too: on wet or windy days some rides close, and a pass is only useful on attractions that are actually running. A rainy-day plan built around indoor and covered attractions can save more time than any queue-jump product.

Pairing a Fast Pass with a sensible ride order

Start with the rides you most want to repeat, because that is where a pass earns its keep, and use your skips before lunch when standard queues are usually at their longest. Save the gentler family rides for the afternoon, when younger children tend to slow down.

Check the park map before you commit, so your skips line up with the rides on your must-do list rather than attractions you would have walked past anyway.

Practical notes on park entry and admission

Opening times change across the season, and the park publishes its calendar online, so match your Fast Pass date to a day the rides you want are scheduled to run. Buying a dated pass for a day when your favourite coaster is closed is money wasted.

If you are turning the visit into a short break, staying overnight at the on-site hotel can make an early start easier, and pairing a park day with a hotel stay often works better than squeezing everything into one long day.

Plan Your Visit

Buy a Fast Pass when your day is tight and the rides you care about are the ones the pass covers, and skip it when your group is happy to move at a toddler's pace through Thomas Land and the zoo. Silver suits a small number of must-do skips, Gold fits a fuller ride list, and Platinum rewards repeat riders.

Whichever tier you choose, buy admission separately, collect your wristband from Guest Services early, and confirm ride availability and opening hours on the official Drayton Manor site before you travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a Fast Pass include park entry at Drayton Manor?

No. A Fast Pass is an add-on, and you still need a valid theme park ticket or Annual Pass to enter the resort. Buy admission first, then decide whether a pass is worth adding for the rides you plan to do.

Which rides are excluded from the Drayton Manor Fast Pass?

Fast Passes are not valid on The Haunting or Falls Theatre, and the park may also exclude selected attractions, experiences or special events. Every guest must still meet the height, age and health rules for each ride.

Is the Drayton Manor Fast Pass the same as the Easy Access Pass?

They are different products. The Easy Access Service is a free scheme for guests who cannot use standard queues, arranged through Nimbus and collected at Guest Services. A paid Fast Pass is a queue-jump product for general visitors.

Can Annual Passholders get a discount on Fast Passes?

No. The park states that Annual Passholders do not receive a discount on Fast Passes, and passholders still need to buy a Fast Pass separately if they want priority queue access.

How many rides does each Fast Pass cover?

Silver gives one skip on three rides, Gold gives one skip on five rides, and Platinum allows unlimited queue-jump use on eligible rides. None of the tiers covers The Haunting or Falls Theatre.
