Gulliver's World Map: Park Areas and How to Plan Your Day
Use the Gulliver's World map to plan a day in Warrington, from Gully's Cartoon Studios to Land of Oz, with ride height bands by area and where to eat.
On this page
Gulliver's World spreads 30 rides across 10 themed areas, plus play attractions, on its Warrington site. Because the areas are compact and themed rather than vast, the park map doubles as a route planner: you can see at a glance which rides sit together and which ones your children's heights unlock.
Two things shape a sensible day more than anything else on the map. The park's headline coaster and several of its Lost World rides open later in the morning, so a smart route starts elsewhere, and ride access is banded by height from 90cm upwards, so grouping rides by band saves a lot of walking.
What the Gulliver's World map covers
The park describes itself as 30 rides in 10 themed areas, with additional play attractions scattered between them. The named areas run from Gully's Cartoon Studios and Smuggler's Wharf through Lilliput Land, Gully Town, Safari Kingdom and The Lost World to Western World, Gulliver's Gears and Wonderland, home to Land of Oz.
A printable park map is the practical companion to the ride list, because the official site lists each ride with its area so you can plot a walking order before you arrive. Pick it up or download it before your visit and mark the rides your group can actually ride.
Opened in 1989, the park sits on a single site in Warrington with the entrance plaza, main stage and several food stops clustered near the gate. That makes the entrance a natural start and finish point for a loop rather than a place you pass through only once.
If you want the wider planning context, from ticket choices to short breaks, the gulliver's world guide covers it alongside this map walk-through.
How the park is laid out and how to walk it in a logical loop
Treat the entrance plaza as the start of one continuous loop: head into the cartoon-themed areas first, work through the pirate and Lilliput zones, then push out to Safari Kingdom, The Lost World and Wonderland before finishing in Western World and Gulliver's Gears. The big coasters and the dinosaur area are the natural far end of the walk, so save them for when the late-opening rides are running.
The corollary matters for rope-drop planning. The Antelope wooden coaster opens at 12:00pm, and the Lost World rides (Dino Safari Tours, Sky Tours Observation Tower, Hatchery and Flight of the Pteranodon) open at 11:30am, so the first hour belongs to Gully's Cartoon Studios, Smuggler's Wharf's other rides and Lilliput Land.
The Galleons and Gilly's Princess Ride also open from midday, so don't build an early plan around them. Walking the loop anticlockwise, or clockwise, matters less than matching ride opening times to where you are on the map.
A handful of rides are seasonal. The Log Flume, Togo Tower, Adventure Canyon, Temple Raider, Tree Top Swings, Jeep Safari, Flight of the Pteranodon and Apache Falls are listed as open February to October, so a winter visit should be mapped around the year-round attractions instead.
Gully's Cartoon Studios: first coasters and toddler favourites
Gully's Cartoon Studios is the natural first stop for young families. The Wriggler is pitched as a first coaster, ridable alone between 120cm and 195cm, or with an adult from 90cm; anyone under 90cm or over 195cm cannot ride.
The same area holds Gully's Grand Prix mini racing cars, where children over 120cm drive alone and younger ones ride with an adult, plus Ellie's Animal Merry Go Round and The Galleons, both of which take riders with an adult from below 90cm. The Galleons opens from midday.
Gilly's Princess Ride adds a royal carriage option, ridable alone over 120cm or with an adult from 90cm. For a family with a toddler and an older sibling, this cluster lets you split up for ten minutes without losing each other on the map.
Smuggler's Wharf: The Antelope, Pirates Cove and the Pirate Ship
Smuggler's Wharf is the park's headline coaster zone. The Antelope is the iconic wooden coaster: riders must be over 140cm to ride alone and between 110cm and 140cm with an adult, and under-110cm children cannot ride. It opens at 12:00pm, so schedule it after a first lap of the cartoon areas.
Pirates Cove spins riders up and down a curved track, with a 105cm minimum to ride with an adult and 120cm to ride alone. The Pirate Ship swing takes riders over 150cm alone but allows children from 90cm with an adult, making it one of the most accessible big-swing rides in the park.
Smuggler's Boating School gives young sailors a first taste of steering, ridable alone over 120cm or with an adult from 90cm. Food sits right here too: Antelope Galley serves sweets, treats and drinks beneath the coaster, and Chip Shack near The Antelope covers hot food.
Lilliput Land: dodgems, carousel and coffee
Lilliput Land mixes gentle classics with practical stops. The Dodgems take drivers over 140cm alone or 90cm and over with an adult, and the Horses Carousel is open to anyone over 90cm alone or younger with an adult.
This is also the coffee and snack quarter of the map. Costa Coffee serves hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches, Chicken Shack covers fried chicken meals with sides, and the Log Flume Kiosk pours tea and coffee.
The Alpine Log Flume, listed as open February to October, is not for everyone: nobody under 90cm can ride and at least one adult is required per boat. It sits in Discovery World, so read the map carefully if the flume is a must.
Gully Town: gentle rides and the kids' lunch kiosk
Gully Town is the toddler-friendly pocket of the map, with the Ladybird Ride roundabout taking riders over 90cm alone or younger with an adult. Percy's Nippers' Pirate Ship is designed for young buccaneers and is restricted to riders under 150cm, so taller siblings sit this one out.
Gully Town Kiosk is the standout food stop for young children because it serves Kids Packed Lunches alongside toasties and hot and cold drinks. That makes the area a sensible lunch pause before pushing on to the bigger rides at the far side of the park.
Safari Kingdom: water slides, Adventure Canyon and jeep safari
Safari Kingdom is the water-and-adventure zone. Togo Tower's three giant water slides take riders over 120cm alone or 90cm to 120cm with an adult, while Adventure Canyon needs at least one adult per boat for a float through the area.
Temple Raider and Tree Top Swings follow similar rules: over 120cm to ride alone, from 90cm with an adult. Jeep Safari is the exception to the pattern, limited to riders between 90cm and 150cm, which makes it a genuine young-child-only ride.
Everything here is listed as open February to October, so Safari Kingdom is a summer and shoulder-season target. In the cooler months the map's centre of gravity shifts to the indoor and year-round rides nearer the gate.

The Lost World: dinosaur rides and the 11:30am start
The Lost World gathers the dinosaur-themed rides, and four of them open at 11:30am rather than at the gate: Dino Safari Tours, Sky Tours Observation Tower, Hatchery and Flight of the Pteranodon. Plan the first lap of the park before you aim here.
Dino Safari Tours drives through the Jurassic setting, ridable alone over 120cm and with an adult below that. Sky Tours Observation Tower lifts riders above the area for dinosaur-spotting views, with the same 120cm rule.
Hatchery is a spinner for riders over 120cm alone or 90cm to 120cm with an adult. Flight of the Pteranodon is the area's step up for older children, requiring riders to be over 140cm alone or 110cm to 140cm with an adult.
Wonderland and Land of Oz: Winged Monkeys and Munchkin Motors
Wonderland holds Land of Oz, a themed area reached along the yellow brick road. Winged Monkeys is the sky-high spinner: riders must be between 120cm and 190cm, so both very young and very tall guests are excluded.
Munchkin Motors lets children drive mini cars on a winding track, riding alone over 120cm or with an adult below that. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party adds the traditional tea cups, again ridable alone over 120cm and with an adult from below 90cm.
Because these rides are spread through a themed walk-through, children tend to move slowly here. Slot Wonderland in as an afternoon wander rather than a hit-list stop if you are watching the clock.
Western World and Gulliver's Gears: the thrill end of the map
Western World and Gulliver's Gears concentrate the park's taller rides. Apache Falls spins riders around the falls and soaks them, with a 100cm minimum and at least one adult per boat. Desperado Drop climbs before the drop, requiring riders over 130cm alone or 120cm to 130cm with an adult.
Gulliver's Gears adds two headliners. Grand Prix Racers is the newest coaster, with riders between 120cm and 195cm alone or 100cm to 120cm with an adult, and nothing under 100cm. Overdrive faces riders outwards for a full 360-degree spin, with a 150cm to 190cm band to ride alone or 120cm to 150cm with an adult.
Gears Kiosk keeps the thrill zone fed with pizzas, hot dogs, drinks and slush. In Western World, Diamond Lil's serves sandwiches, pizza, savoury pastries and Kids Packed Lunches, while Jarvis Kiosk handles warm drinks.
Where to eat by area
Food at Gulliver's World is mapped by area rather than centralised, so you can eat where you already are. The Entrance Plaza holds Lagado's Restaurant & Grill for Turkish cuisine, the Doughnut Hut for hot doughnuts and the Horse Box for drinks and sandwiches.
Gully's Cartoon Studios has Gully's Grill for burgers, hot dogs and chicken nuggets, ideal before or after the Wriggler. Lilliput Land adds the Doughnuts stand for a mid-afternoon sugar hit.
Allergy and dietary queries are handled by a member of management on arrival, so raise them at the gate rather than at the counter. For a fuller run-through of menus and meal timing, see the dedicated gulliver's world food guide.
Height bands by area: what each band can reach
Height bands are the single most useful filter on the map. Guests under 90cm can enjoy up to 13 rides, from 90cm up to 22, from 100cm up to 24, from 110cm up to 27 and from 120cm up to 30.
In practice, under-90cm children get the most from Gully's Cartoon Studios, Gully Town and the carousel and swing rides that allow an accompanying adult. The jump to 90cm unlocks a large block of rides where an adult rides alongside, which is where most families notice the biggest difference.
The 120cm mark is the big unlock, opening Overdrive with an adult, Apache Falls is already within reach from 100cm, and the 140cm mark opens The Antelope alone and Flight of the Pteranodon. For a ride-by-ride breakdown, the gulliver's world height restrictions page is the companion read.

Accessibility on the map: Ride Access Pass and the guide
An accessibility guide covering every ride's access can be downloaded before your visit. It sits alongside a Ride Access Pass scheme for guests who cannot queue, allowing the holder and up to three helpers to enter rides via the exit area.
The pass must be reserved online in advance and is limited per operational date; it cannot be issued without a reservation. Bring evidence of eligibility, either a document from a medical professional or a Nimbus Access Card showing the standing and queuing or crowds symbol, as blue badges, DLA and PIP letters are not accepted for this purpose.
Gulliver's states it has never sold fast-passes, so the Ride Access Pass is the only queue-avoidance route, and it reduces rather than removes waiting. Expect at least one ride cycle even with the pass, and on quieter days you may not need it.
A one-day route for families with young children
Start at the gate and head straight for Gully's Cartoon Studios, where The Wriggler, Gully's Grand Prix and Ellie's Animal Merry Go Round suit the youngest riders. Move on to Gully Town for the Ladybird Ride and Percy's Nippers' Pirate Ship before the lunch rush.
Take lunch at Gully Town Kiosk, which serves Kids Packed Lunches, then loop through Lilliput Land for the carousel and dodgems. By now The Antelope should be running, so swing past Smuggler's Wharf for whoever is tall enough and let the rest ride Pirates Cove.
Finish with the Lost World rides once they are open from 11:30am, then let children choose between Wonderland and the water rides before working back towards the exit. Keep an eye on ride heights as you go, since a child close to a band boundary can suddenly unlock a whole new set.
A half-day route for teens chasing the taller rides
Teens with 140cm or more to their name can go straight for the tall rides once they open: The Antelope at Smuggler's Wharf from 12:00pm, Flight of the Pteranodon in The Lost World from 11:30am, then Overdrive and Grand Prix Racers in Gulliver's Gears. Add Desperado Drop and Apache Falls in Western World. If you are weighing up a bigger coaster day instead, our Blackpool Pleasure Beach guide covers the same late-opening and height-band decisions at a larger park.
Overdrive requires 150cm to ride alone or 120cm with an adult, so check the group against that band before committing. A half-day works best by plotting those four or five rides on the map, hitting the late-opening ones first and ignoring the play areas entirely.
If weather looks changeable, check how the outdoor rides are handled before you travel, since a flexible plan is easier than a fixed one. The gulliver's world weather page covers the outdoor ride picture in more detail.
Getting there, parking and arriving for opening
The park's postcode for satnav is WA5 9YZ. From the M62, exit at junctions 8 or 9 and follow the brown signs; from the M6, exit at junction 22. Parking on site is free.
By train, Warrington Central and Warrington Bank Quay are the two stations. From Central, the bus station is around the corner and bus 17 runs to the top of the drive, followed by a five-minute walk to the entrance; from Bank Quay, walk into the town centre to the bus station first.
Cycle lanes run along Cromwell Avenue, the main access road, and gate staff will direct you to bike parking on arrival. For a detailed walk-through of the journey, see how to get to gulliver's world.
Tickets and timing before you go
Day ticket prices vary between on-the-day and advance online purchase, and under-90cm guests go free. At the time of writing, adult and child day tickets are £31 on the day or around £28 online in advance, seniors £29 or £26, concessionary £24 or £21, with the Annual Passport at £99 covering 12 months at all Gulliver's parks.
The calendar runs seasonally, with quieter weekdays and busier school-holiday dates, so check the official calendar once for your date before booking. The gulliver's world opening times page explains how that calendar works across the year.
Book online in advance to lock in the lower rate, and if you plan more than a couple of visits across the year, the Annual Passport is worth comparing against day tickets. The gulliver's world tickets page breaks down the options.
Plan a Map-Led Day at Gulliver's World
The map at Gulliver's World is not just a wayfinding tool: it shows which rides cluster together, which height band unlocks them and which ones open later in the morning. Plan the loop around those late openers, and you will spend your day riding rather than walking back and forth.
If you are thinking about a short break, the on-site lodgings turn a single park day into a two-day visit without extra driving. The gulliver's world hotels page covers room options and packages.
